Job Description
The purpose of this position is to build advocacy for our company, by leading the developing and management of product, trade engagement and education initiatives in Japan. Under the leadership of the Country Manager Japan, and in conjunction with the Processing Innovation and Education Extension team, this position will develop a cohesive trade and education program across the country, in line with the overall strategy.

Requirements


· Tertiary education in textile science is desirable



· Experience in sourcing or product development within the apparel industry
· Fashion and/or textile specific knowledge and/or experience is required



· Must be fluent (written and verbal) in both English and Japanese
· Excellent written and verbal communication including public speaking
· Strong textile/wool technical expertise
· Experience and understanding of apparel merchandising, manufacturing, global apparel supply chain operations, sourcing principles (including pricing) and mass
market distribution
· Broad understanding of quality control principles and timescales in the textiles and apparel industry
· Strong knowledge of fashion, fiber and textile trends
· Ability to work as a team player but also autonomously
· High level motivation and willingness to be ‘hands on’
· Good organizational and planning skills
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to work on multiple projects at one time
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of programs, as well as a willingness to learn new system
