Due to a very important customer in Japan we need to hire a Software engineer to provide on-site support in Tokyo (Shimbashi area).
The Support Engineer is responsible for providing high-quality technical support for Verbio Products. This person will also work on other programming and documentation projects as required.
Support Engineers will deliver solutions to both technical and non-technical end users while also supporting a wide range of technologies.
Main tasks and responsibilities include:
· Take ownership of technical issues and work with or without our Development team to solve more advanced issues when necessary.
· Provide training to customers as required.
· File reports on product problems and issues.
· Guide customers on installation and updating.
· Help with product improvement.
· Recommend solutions to ensure better customer service.
· Ensure delivery of product fixes within timeframe.
· Perform troubleshoot on all issues and recommend solutions to ensure better customer services.
· Manage requests from internal and external clients and solve them through email and phone.
Most important non-technical requirements:
· Client-facing experience
· Written and verbal skills; excellent phone manner
· Native Japanese
· Excellent level of English
Technical requirements:
· Sound knowledge in programming languages (at least two of them): Python, Java, C++, JavaScript.
· Good knowledge in OOP and design patterns, specially in behavioral and construction patterns.
· Experience with auto-scaled systems for millions simultaneous users.
· Knowledge in programming tools such as IDE’s, Git, SVN, etc.
Nice to have requirements (not mandatory):
· Experience with Speech Technologies (speech recognition, text to speech, voice biometrics)
· Basic NLP (Natural Language Processing) knowledge
· Basic Machine Learning knowledge
· Linux
· Knowledge in using containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc) for developing and deploying applications and services.
· Quality code passionate
· Agile methodologies experience
