Job Description
To provide bug fixing and enhancement services to our clients. Have a detailed understanding of the technical features of the Gloss system and how this fits together. Working towards a career in design, technical or business analysis.
Technical for general maintenance & support issues
* Investigating and resolving issues raised by clients
* Liaising with Hyderabad / Tokyo team on support issues
* Updating issue tracking system
* Ensure issues are handled properly
* Creating bug fix kits
* Applying bug fix kits received from Hyderabad
* Release creation / execution for any enhancement work undertaken
* Analyze functional specifications provided by the team leader
* Produce technical specifications based on Functional Specifications provided by the team
* Coding and unit testing
* Creating test plans and documenting test results
Business
* Understand the client’s business and processing needs
* Develop an understanding of all business areas supported by the products
* Develop an understanding of how the products handle the business areas
* Remain aware of developments affecting our clients (regulatory, market etc.)
Client / Team Relationship
* Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with clients
* Effectively communicate with other team members
Requirements
Knowledge/Experience
* Sound education in Computer Science or a science based related subject
* Ability to program effectively in a number of languages (SQL, C or Java) or prepared to learn
* Analysis: Can analyze bug fixes and enhancement requests given appropriate support from team leader. As career progresses, undertake more complex analysis
* Estimations: Able to estimate how long it will take to produce certain bug fixes or small enhancements. Ability to report on progress and raise issues in a timely fashion
* Technical Specifications: Can write technical specifications e.g. Interface given sufficient support from a team leader
* Programming / Technical Knowledge: Can program familiar modules from technical specifications with support from team leader. Ensure good re-use of code and adherence to our coding standards. This will be taught. A working technical knowledge of a number of core modules (e.g. Trade Enrichment, Instruction Processing)
* Environment Management: Can create effective upgrade kits and promote between environments
* Product Knowledge: Familiar with one or more of our key products
* Ability to remain client focused
* Communication, both written & spoken (Japanese and English)
* Organized and methodical approach
* Ability to work to an agreed plan and time-scales
* Commitment to ensure quality standards for project deliverables are met
