Job Description
Provide supports to ensure the alignment of DC activity and outbound transportation with the brand's general business objectives for Japan, and work closely with 3PL, Operations team of Distribution Operations and all other business functions to jointly establish optimum balance between service levels and operating cost.
Requirements
1.Operations;
-Oversee the daily operation and relationships of 3PL distribution center and transportation network, servicing the Japanese market.
-Work closely with cross functional business partners not only in Japan but also in Asia Pacific region in order to understand business objectives and priorities.
-Identify opportunities of process improvement within distribution operations and facilitate improvement plans developed by Planning & Development team within Supply Chain organization.
2.Location management
- Take proactive actions to mitigate DC space capacity risk by obtaining the latest inventory forecast from internal business partners, and sharing with 3PL.
-Manage offsite storage space and locations by identifying necessity, searching for available space, and planning/executing the physical inventory transfer, in case extra holding capacity is required for optimal distribution operations.
-Work with 3PL to manage DC storage location strategically by creating/deleting locations and changing location configurations in WMS.
-Facilitate housekeeping activity in partnership with APAC Allocation and 3PL in order to optimize location utilization and to create storage locations.
3.Inventory Control
3.1.Cycle count
- Analyze inventory within the systems, identifying and correcting issues, maximizing inventory availability and order fulfillment, and pro-actively addressing issues that would impede operational performance.
-Communicate with Senior Management in Global Inventory Control to make sure cycle count programme is in line with the corporate policy.
-Act as a key liaison with Japan Finance when conducting inventory audits.
3.2.Stock adjustment
-Oversee stock write-off process and disposal process ensuring the integrity of
the data and the products in partnership with 3PL and Operation team, Distribution Operations.
- Monitor and validate inventory management processes performed by 3PL and make process improvement as needed.
4.Reporting & Analysis
-Gather and analyze data, but not limited to, ship/receive unit volume, operational productivity, service performance, inventory availability and financial performance.
-Examine and evaluate purpose and content of business reports to develop new, or improve existing format, use, and control.
-Review ad-hoc reports to determine origin, report flow, format, frequency, distribution and purpose or function of report; conducts ad-hoc analysis as needed, in partnership internal business partners in Japan, Hong Kong and the US.
-Publish monthly Supply Chain activity reports, including highlighting business risks, lack of efficiencies and plans of action in order to help senior management make business decisions.
5.Financial analysis
-Provide financial analysis in support of Divisional service and cost objectives.
-Oversee cost budget management through processing of 3PL invoices on a monthly basis; manage, review and partner with Japan Finance and the Supply Chain in determining actual versus plan costs
- Present operational results, forecasts and analysis to cross functional groups in monthly expense accrual & forecast meeting.
-Serve as the key contact with Japan Finance to ensure inventory levels are accurate and stabilized.
6.Compliance management
6.1.Vendor Compliance
- Partner with Vendor Compliance Team to drive problem identification and resolution further up the supply chain to improve vendor performance.
6.2.SOX compliance
-Identify compliance risks in operations working with internal/external SOX auditors and implement process improvement.
-Act as a key liaison of SOX issues on Supply Chain activities and contribute to the company’s SOX compliance.
-Monitor that all controls are in place and working properly.
6.3.Other Compliance Management
- Assist management of any other compliance requirements based on company policy or new regulations as needed.
