Job Description
The Senior Accountant will be accountable for:

Management and statutory reporting
• Report the financial performance of in Japan office accordance with internal requirements and Group financial procedures to regional headquarters in Singapore
• Prepare accurate financial forecasts, budgets and statutory accounts
• Ensure the financials meet local statutory requirements
• Pro-actively identify and report upsides and risks to forecast and budget achievement

Strengthening process control
• Responsible for the implementation of Group standards and systems
• Help review current processes, establishing best practices and implementing streamlined workflows to drive operational efficiency
• Ensure financial and business controls are maintained, developed and enforced
• Implementation of recommendation per internal audit review

Business and system transformation
• Partner and support role to Senor Management to improve business profitability and operational efficiency
• Coordinate with regional IT on JDE system implementation, in particular, process mapping, master data migration, user training and acceptance test etc

Treasury and others
• Close monitoring of the following: AR, inventory level, cash flow and FX exposures
• Execution of other periodic tasks as stated in the duties and responsibilities
• Prompt submission of all required forms and/or documents
• Communication with (financial) business partners like banks, tax authorities, tax advisors, etc.

Requirements
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or relevant majors
• Minimum 8 years of working experience preferably gained in trading/distribution company
• Good understanding of IFRS, Japanese GAAP and taxation regulations
• Excellent English skills, both written and verbal
• Prior experience in managing business integration, system implementation and process improvement
• Good understanding of JD-Edward or Oracle system
• Flexible approach to things, proactive, hands-on, can-do attitude
• Excellent communication skills, and proficient in Microsoft office, in particular Excel
