Job Description
■Consult and advise the President and management team of company on all brand, engagement, and communications matters, including crisis and digital.
■Represent company in Japan within Asia Pacific Communications Leadership Team/ Country Management Team-Extended (CMT-E)
■Coach and develop the HUB communications members for Japan based in Malaysia.
■Develop and implement integrated communications and engagement strategy based on company corporate and country strategies covering the following areas:
・External Communication: Design and implement communications strategies for all relevant external stakeholders, including media and customers, and decide on appropriate media activities, prepare, and evaluate them.
・Internal communication: Develop and implement employee engagement plans that contribute to increase Engagement Index. Establish and maintain a system for regular employee communications through various channels.
・Crisis and Issue Communications: Establish and maintain a system for crisis communications with regular training sessions for executives, site managers, and communicators in Japan to be ready for any crisis. Support issue management as a communication expert.
・Sustainability Communication: Closely working with the head of Sustainability in Japan, implement communications activities, including media interviews, speaking opportunities, and events, to position company as a leading sustainable solution provider.
・Digital Communications: Develop, coordinate, and manage digital media in Japan, including intranet, internet of company in Japan, and social media.
・Branding: Ensure that the brand is consistently represented in the marketplace and that it meets the needs of its target audience. This includes brand touch point management, coordinating advertising campaigns, brand alliances, etc.
・Marketing communications: Understand the strategy of the relevant business unit, develop and implement its marketing communications plan to support business. Advise and support cross-business unit activities such as Team Automotive Asia/Japan and Key Account Management teams for its marketing communication activities.
・Change communications: Develop and implement communications plans for effective change management, especially for sensitive issues such as M&A, business integration, and closure of sites.
・Societal Engagement: Address the needs of the communities surrounding our production sites, help achieve the SDGs, and have a positive long-term impact on the environment and society through donations, volunteering activities and science school called Kids’ Lab.
・Advocacy: Act as an early warning system for long-term trends, issues and topics relevant to company and proactively drive companies interests. Manage reputation and advocacy issues in Japan and make sure its transparency to management team.
■Projects from Country Head/Region/Global: Develop and implement a communications plan and provide advice from a communications point of view for the mid-term strategic planning on top of the regular task.
■Manage budgeting process and monitor the cost
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing
• More than 10 years of working experience in Corporate Communications and Marketing Communications
in an international and multicultural environment
• Experience in crisis management or engagement projects are preferred
• Experience in leading a team
• International exposure and intercultural competence
• Decisive, flexible, open-minded, and resilient
• Excellent in English and Japanese, both spoken and written
Additional Job Information
WFH and Flex working time provided. Experience in automotive industry is a plus.
