Primary Responsibilities:Managing/Senior Consultant has overall responsibility for service delivery in a particular specialty or discipline, which covers the following areas:Technical oversight of all projects sold and delivered in the area of specialty (ex. Application security, network penetration, ThreatZERO™ or ICS)Direct responsibility for growing the methodologies in the area of expertise and the strict compliance to them when delivering technical work to ensure consistent deliverable quality is maintainedDirect responsibility for ensuing all consultants and subcontractors within the technical practice are properly skilled at delivering high quality technical workDirect responsibility for maintaining high technical competency on all engagements providing noticeable quality and technical expertise over our competitionDirect responsibility for hiring, mentoring and developing the technical capabilities of team members within the same technical practice areaDirect responsibility for tracking the success of the technical practice area of responsibilityIndirect responsibility for scoping and pricing all engagements within the practice areas and assisting the Consulting Director as needed with scopingDirect responsibility to ensure that non-billable resources are booked on internal practice building activities that are focused on increasing their technical capabilities or enhancing our service deliver capability in that serviceDirect responsibility for mentoring junior consultants in their practice areasDirect responsibility for ensuring that our company is the trusted advisor to the clients and that we maintain a strong relationship with the clientTake ownership of the technical content and scoping for all RFPs and work closely with the Account Manager to ensure all targets are metWork closely as a team with other Consultants, Technical and Consulting Directors to ensure the business is stable and balanced across the practice and maintaining technical excellenceHave a strong attention to detail and technical writing skills requiredAbility to multi-task and prioritize job requirementsMinimum Requirements:The Managing/Senior Consultant must be an industry expert in his/her area of technical expertise and be the service line owner. He/She must ensure the success of his/her assigned practice are or services line and at a minimum must do the following:Build and maintain strong, consistent and repeatable methodologiesEnsure all methodologies are being followed and the results are well documented in the final delivery reportUpdate methodologies quarterly at a minimumCreate any supporting tools, templates or processes to support the service lines of assignedCreate marketing materials, proposal language, technical report templates for the assigned services linesPrioritize internal tasks versus external client facing tasks to ensure that time is managed efficientlySolid understanding of endpoint security, network/general security and AV/malware industryBe a self-started and self-motivated to lead and direct a technical practice areaMay require travel up to 80%Utilization Requirements:The Managing/Senior Consultant is required to be from 65% - 100% (1920 hours/yr.) utilized, which means most of their time should be spent billing with the rest being practices building activates, marketing and sales calls.Project Management Requirements:The Managing Consultant must have strong project management capabilities to lead and mentor the team to ensure success on all projects delivered in their area of technical expertise. The client should never have to manage us; we manage our clients and make sure they know the status at all times of their existing projects. Project delivery and management responsibilities include:Strict adherence to the consulting process that is based upon the Project Management Institute best practicesProvide oversight of projects delegated to team members to ensure consistent delivery and client satisfactionHave demonstrated excellence in project management via oversight of past projectsDemonstrated ability to review reports, provide clients proper communication, project planning, understanding of all project prerequisite requirements prior to kickoff, managing project scope changes or creep, identifying any contingency plans for the project, and fully understanding the project risks that our company is taking on with each projectAdditional Beneficial Experiences and BackgroundThe bullets below document the preferred background and experience for a Managing Consultant:5-8 years technical experience in their area of expertise Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience is preferredHaving a combined background in corporate and consulting environments is a plusExperience in project scoping and estimatingCertifications in security like CISSP or application security, network security, technical training, project management or in their field of expertis
