Senior Legal Counsel

We are working with one of the world's leading renewable power energy companies, to help them find their first legal hire for their Japan office.

Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Counsel looking for a new challenge, or for a bar qualified lawyer looking to go in-house. As Senior Counsel you will be responsible for advising on all legal matters, including contracts, joint venture agreements and relationship management; you will be expected to prepare or review all legal documents pertaining to bids and commercial agreements, as well as managing external firms. You will be amply supported by regional and global legal teams, but this is initially a standalone role, so requires someone who is comfortable working alone, both at hands on tasks and in high level strategic areas.

Requirements
Qualified lawyer or with 5 plus years experience in an in house role
Strong experience in a broad range of areas
The ability to work independently and quickly on a broad range of issues (infrastructure-related experience is a bonus)
Native Japanese and fluent English language abilities
