Job Description
Japan Tax Manager responsibilities:

Manage and support the preparation of regional corporate taxes and Indirect taxes
Manage and support the preparation of quarterly tax provision, tax estimates, deferred taxation, tax packages and reconciliations.
Coordinating tax audit defense.
Coordinating with business on tax incentives and credits.
Coordinate and support various tax projects as needed.
Liaison for local tax authorities and local government authorities.
Liaison for internal partners, auditors and advisors.
Work closely with business units to understand business and function as a trusted business advisor regarding tax matters.
Support Transfer Pricing requirements as needed.
Coordinate with local finance team, tax center of excellence (COE) for financial data, tax processes and process improvements.

Global responsibilities:

Collaborate with Global tax and tax COE to improve processes by developing or implementing best practices from a tax perspective (standardization and automation of processes)
Japan based Tax COE managerial role.
Collaborate with MY Accounting COE and Tax COE on various tax needs and projects
Supports regional tax related audits
Supports various global tax projects as needed

Requirements
Requirements:

Professional qualification is added advantage (ACCA/CPA etc)
Minimum of 8 years of tax experience in Public Accounting firm and in Commercial (for Manager role) covering both direct and indirect taxes
Able to travel when required (25%)
Minimum of 4 years of experiences in Public Accounting firm and in commercial
Well versed in accounting standards and policies (JGAAP)
Keep abreast with the latest development in tax laws in Japan (JTAX)
Good knowledge of Indirect taxes and withholding tax laws to provide tax advice
Familiar with USGAAP accounting and SAP knowledge is an added advantage.
Strong in Excel and PowerPoint knowledge is an added advantage
Meticulous and detail oriented
Experience in working with global tax team with US headquarters
Strong communication skills, proficient in English/Japanese speaking and writing
Bachelors degree and higher or equivalent experience
To be based onsite in Hiroshima / Tokyo office, Japan
