This start-up company is looking for a creative, commercial and highly skilled Data Scientist to join the team in Tokyo.
You will be leading their core analytics team, looking at huge datasets of merchant data, transaction data and consumer credit data to make key business decisions quickly and accurately.

The Role
Leading the development and testing of hypotheses across fraud detection, credit risk and merchant risk Play a key role as a member of the leadership teamDesigning, implementing and analyzing algorithms which substantially impact our business resultsLeading development of prototypes and guiding solutions into productionServing as a primary person to consult on complex data science issues, contributing key ideasGrowing and leading the data science groupServing as spokesperson and advocate on relevant data science issues to both internal and external audiences and stakeholders
Key Skills

Post Graduate Degree in computer science, mathematics, stats or related fieldAwareness of business objectives and ability to apply this understanding to recommend and implement product development for difficult and complex technical issuesComfort working within a modern engineering environment (Linux, system architecture, Java, Python, multithreaded programming)Ability to prototype experimental solutions and use off-the-shelf statistical analysisDevelop robust, maintainable production systemsExperience with fraud/credit/financial datasets a plus
