【Purpose & Accountabilities】
Shell’s global Trading and Supply business is one of the largest energy trading operations in the world with key desks in Asia, trading in crude oil, natural gas, LNG, electrical power, etc. Our business in Asia has set huge growth targets for the coming years with major focus on green and sustainable energy.
To accelerate our ambitious delivery goals and energy transition targets in Japan, our Japan energy marketing and trading desk team (Shell Energy Japan or SEJ) is looking for an Information, Digital and Technology (IDT) advisor.

【What is the role?】
As an IDT Advisor, you will touch the whole spectrum of IT delivery – identifying and defining the business needs of the users and stakeholders, guiding solution design to meet those business needs in line with both, business and IT, developing strategic roadmaps, ensuring seamless fit between processes, training, and solutions, protecting and exploiting value realization of product and information management investments, all in close alignment with the natural team (i.e. group of team members from different parts of Shell working on a common project/product delivery).

SHELL TRADING & SUPPLY (T&S)
Trading & Supply is the principal global energy trading organization and a key segment of Royal Dutch Shell (RDS). The traded portfolio includes crude oil, refined products, LNG, natural gas, electricity, renewable energy certificates, and carbon-offset instruments. Larger T&S office locations are London, Houston, Singapore, Dubai, Rotterdam, Calgary and Barbados. Shell Energy combines the divisions Shell LNG Marketing & Trading; Shell Energy Americas, which includes Shell Energy Brazil, and Shell Energy Mexico; Shell Energy Europe and Global Environmental Products; Shell Energy Australia; and Shell Energy Asia. Key activities include wholesale trading, sales to Business-to-Business customers and optimization of the trade book including around Shell Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and New Energies asset positions. Business development activities grow the Shell Energy portfolio.

SHELL ENERGY ASIA (SEA)
SEA has been established in May 2017. It comprises Shell Energy China, Shell Energy Singapore, Shell Energy India, Shell Energy Japan, and Shell Energy Philippines. In addition to the downstream optimization of LNG, sales of truck-loaded LNG and natural gas, SEA markets and trades electricity and renewable electricity certificates in liberalizing Asian markets. SEA’s New Markets team is responsible for the identification, prioritization and realization of new country entries and downstream sales of LNG. Country representative offices in Japan, South Korea and Vietnam support business development activities and manage Shell Energy’s and RDS’ interfaces with in-country key stakeholders. SEA staff maintain close links with other Shell Energy divisions and Shell Integrated Gas and New Energies.

SHELL ENERGY JAPAN (SEJ)
Since 2000 Japan has gradually and from 2016 more rapidly been liberalizing its downstream energy markets with a number of further developments planned for the 2020-2022 period. Accordingly, Japan has become an accessible market for Shell Energy to extend its global marketing and trading activities into. Domiciled under Shell Japan Limited and based out of central Tokyo, SEJ acts as Shell’s marketer and trader of electricity and renewable electricity certificates to wholesale and Business-to-Business customers in Japan. The core SEJ team based out of Tokyo currently comprises of the General Manager, Senior Originators, Originator Analyst, Senior Deal Structurer and Trader, Trading Associate, and Development Manager. External and government relations, business excellence and transactional support is being provided by functional experts based in Tokyo, Singapore and London. The SEJ team draws upon and contributes to global Shell Energy and Shell Integrated Gas and New Energies business development activities and best practices.
