Job Description
Program Lead, Japan is a Japan based position that reports to R&D Strategy & Operations Director
The role is responsible for:
– Maximizing the value of the portfolio by aligning local Program Development strategy & plans with regional and global program strategy
– Driving flexible, cross-functional execution of local program strategy through the Program Team
– Ensuring objectivity and process rigor in cross-functional decision making (Value, Cost, Risk)
– Providing leadership in managing the Commercialization process and applying best practice project management with accountability to Commercialization and R&D Compliance (CRDC)
– Leading cross-functional risk, issue identification, development of risk mitigation strategy and resolution; accountability for appropriate communication to VP, Japan R&D, Global Program Management Lead (GPML) & PM Regional JAPAC
– Ensuring communication of local, regional and global program information to local, regional and global stakeholders
– Establishing and monitoring of development plans and program budget
– Supporting as needed to navigate product candidates through internal governance and external regulatory portals
– Interactions and communication with external customers, key organizations, and institutions
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a relevant field
– Advanced degree preferred (MSc / PhD / MBA) or strong demonstration of equivalent combination of relevant educational and professional training
Experience:
– In depth industry knowledge/experience in the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or other Healthcare related field and understanding of the local market
– Specialist experience in a drug development Project Management role
– Experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams
– Familiar with financial principles related to program budgets
– International collaboration and experience of working with different cultures
– Solid scientific understanding
– Preferred: Global experience within all phases of drug development
