Job Description
1. Strategy
- Implement and support Japan material management strategy with responsible business unit(s). Ensures strategy can provide efficient, agile and reliable material management services that are aligned with business unit(s) strategies as well as company’s regional and local strategies.
2. Lead/Coordinate/Support S&OP and Planning
- Sales and Operations Planning – Lead/coordinate and supports the Sales and Operations Planning process, which is led jointly business units and material managements by ensuring global S&OP process guidelines are followed. Directs the implementation of improved tools/technologies to facilitate overall S&OP process. Ensures S&OP process adequately covers supply/demand balancing by reviewing third party, inter company, and intra company sales relationships.
- Demand Planning – Ensures global demand planning process, calendar, and cycle are adhered to within the company. Supports business units by setting of targets and objectives in the area of forecast accuracy reporting and ABCxyz analysis or others.
- Master Scheduling – Accountable for the output of the Master Schedule – ensuring it meets all commercial and manufacturing requirements for domestically produced materials, including tollers. Also it is a key stakeholder in risk management planning/activities.
- Supply Planning – Responsible for availability of merchandise materials based on the demand forecast and through the utilization of materials requirements planning. Directs the DRP (Distribution Requirements Planning) process that entails establishing target product inventory levels needed at each distribution point based on the demand plan and/or targeted inventory levels.
- Distribution Requirements Planning – plan requirement planning at warehouses and manage stock transfer.
3. Execute Purchase/Production/Transfer order activities
- Manage purchase (include tolling)/production orders and ensure sufficient goods with optimized inventory level, include handling import customs clearance
- Monitor order status of purchase (include tolling)/production orders in order to ensure material delivered on time
- Manage exceptional incident handling of the orders.
- Maintain relevant master data for the orders and other MM related.
- Communicate and corroborate with vendors/supplier to improve supply reliability and SCM flexibility/agility
- Manage NCM in case of damaged purchased goods
4. Projects
- Implement mid to small size project with defined/agreed schedule and contribute budget control for material management related projects within responsible business unit(s) as a project member.
5. Integration
- Manage related material management activities, including best practice sharing, process set up and system migration. Periodic review of process to identify improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics in prefered
- Ability to speak Japanese and English as business level are required.
- 4 years of experience in supply chain, especially in planning
- Working knowledge of SAP R/3, APO, MRP, and MS Office.
