(Will be one member of 24 employees underneath the Head of the Legal and Business Affairs Department)
[Job Functions]
1. Artist Contract-related Services
- Discussing theterms of each contract with labels. Consulting, fine-tuning and proposing deal terms and conditions to label person in charge
- Drafting up and reviewing artist-related contracts (including multiple contracts with one party)
- Negotiating and making adjustments with the contracting party (including singlehanded negotiations)
- Promoting and enhancing awareness of rights-related issues among labels
- When necessary, sharing necessary legal-related information with global headquarters and internal legal staff, as well as the department in charge of the deal
- Trademark searchand confirmation, and necessaryapplications for usage
2. So-called “360-degree Deals” (merchandising, ad appearance fees, live event investments, joint master-right deals etc)
3. Digital-relatedBusiness
Contracts with digital-related business partners (iTunes, Line Music and so on)
Requirements

Desired Skills / Abilities

More than 5 Years’ Experience in drafting and reviewing contracts in a corporate environment
• • Experience in drafting both standard form and stand-alone contracts; reviewing documentation prepared by the other party
• • Knowledge of civic law and intellectual property (in particular copyrights/ trademarks)
• • Knowledge of portrait rights pertaining to artists
• • Excellent communication skills, a flexible approach, strong leadership ability when necessary
• • Proactive experience in and ability to resolving problems, strong desire to do same
• • Experience in the handling of rights content in the music and entertainment industries desired
• • Understanding of English desired
• • If possible, Law School graduate
