In this school, you will be working in a fully bilingual company with 100% international students, in an energetic environment, frequently communicating with overseas offices, students, supporting school operations and coordination of students coming to Japan. The school in Japan is now seeking a head teacher who can make improvements on the quality of teaching in the school.
Job Description
As the head teacher, you will manage the academic department and improve the quality of teaching, supporting the School Director and increase student satisfaction. (30% teaching, 70% management and administration)
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
• Lead staff development through training sessions, ensuring teaching staff are up to school standards
• Observation of teaching staff, manage and lead weekly teachers’ briefing, analyzing student surveys and make improvements based on student feedback, for example selecting and localizing different course materials
• Overseeing induction of new teachers, managing new and existing part-timers
• Liaison with finance team regarding staff payment, managing academic budget for training and school material
• Maintaining records of staff holidays/absence/sick leave, and monitor attendance records of students
• Coordinate timetabling for students, teachers, courses and classrooms
• Organize and perform testing of student language levels on the weekly induction day
• Provide excellent customer service at all times, responding to student feedbacks and questions
Requirements
• Teacher qualified with experience in teaching Japanese to foreign learners
• Previous staff management experience, OR having the drive and leadership capability
• Native OR fluent Japanese speakers, with minimum business level English in both reading, writing and speaking
• Flexibility and adaptability to people of different backgrounds and cultures
• Excellent communication skills with both students, colleagues and external parties
• Attention to details, organized and able to work under pressure
• Decision making skills and ability to take initiatives
It's a plus if you have experience using Marugoto.
