Job Description
• identifying sales opportunities in the Japanese Coastal and Civil construction market
• advising the customer on foundation installation solutions with a focus on pile driving equipment
• preparing quotations together with the Proposal Manager in Japan and Engineering in the Netherlands, explain and clarify the quotations to clients and follow-up the quotations
• actively updating the CRM system and drafting visit reports
• negotiate, drafting, assessing and entering into leasing and sales contracts
• proactively approaching stakeholders – including customers and their partners – in order to collect information concerning market developments, upcoming projects and new technical developments
• participating in international trade shows and organizing roadshows and customer presentations.
Requirements
• a university background: either a technical education (e.g. mechanical engineering) with commercial affinities, or a commercial education with demonstrable technical affinities
• native Japanese and living in Tokyo, or willing to move to Tokyo
• good oral and written communication skills in English
• vast experience selling to EPC’s and/or their subcontractors working on (marine) civil construction projects
• strong network amongst EPC’s and their subcontractors
• technical understanding, preferably marine construction and pile installation related experience
• basic Legal knowledge of drafting and evaluating contracts, or willingness to gain such knowledge
• service-oriented and flexible attitude with a high degree of independence
• pro-active and entrepreneurial mindset
• willingness to travel, mainly within Japan
