Job Description
The Director GMT (Genetic & Metabolic Disorders Business Unit) marketing is responsible for driving the development and implementation of the Japan commercial and marketing strategy for HPP, NF1, and LAL-D as well as for potential future assets. This critical leadership role will be responsible for setting the marketing strategy, reviewing business performance, and proposing targeted solutions. An essential element of success is a demonstrated ability to influence without authority and successfully negotiate to align cross-functional and cross-geography interests (e.g. medical affairs, R&D, NPP (New Product Planning) country leadership, and country operating units).
• Create and implement the Japan marketing strategy (e.g. positioning, messaging, branding, medical education programs, market research) for all existing products and future assets.
• Responsible for leading and growing the Japan business including close collaboration with sales departments and other key functional areas (i.e., Medical Affairs incl. MSLs, TLL, Regulatory, NPP and Legal) to ensure successful execution of plans and deliver results, as Brand Team lead.
• Partner with commercial insights to conduct highly innovative research/analytics to help identify key business dynamics, behavioral barriers, segmentation, competitive positioning, and triggers/barriers to patient identification and demand generation.
• Establish process for collection and sharing of best practices/
• Provide direction and leadership for patient identification strategies.
• Responsible for developing relationships with key opinion leader physicians for scientific/medical guidance and to develop external support.
• Responsible to support sales activities, MCC (Medical Rep) training and planning of PMS.
• Responsible for managing marketing expense budget. (P&E, T&E)
• Manage each brand leaders and members, digital marketing, and EDS(Early Diagnosis Specialists)
Requirements
• ~10 years of work experience of sales / marketing in pharmaceutical business.
• ~ 3 years people management experience
• Experience in rare diseases area or specialty therapeutic area, and/or new product launch experience in Marketing
• Experience in orphan diseases is a plus
• Past sales experience is a plus
• Marketing skills and Patient Centricity Mind set

• Communication skill both in Japanese / English
