Job Description
FP&A Manager Japan serves as a financial business partner to the Japan Commercial business. This position is a part of a dynamic and growing team responsible for the budgeting, planning and forecasting processes, providing expert advice and guidance to the Management team to enhance visibility and understanding of the drivers of business performance. Critical aspect of the role is the ability to exercise business control over key elements of the Japan Commercial P&L and work with Sales Director and Country controller to ensure financials are adequately reflecting business activities. The role owns upward reporting of budgets, plans and forecasts, supporting the Country controller to ensure all requirements are met. The role is also responsible for the commercial review of the monthly results and communication/reporting of these to the key stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating Annual Commercial Business Pln Preparation
- Support Monthly forecasting of Japan Commercial P&L, Working Capital, Headcount, Installed Base
- Monthly Report and Analysis of Orders, Sales, Margin, Pricing and communicating to business leaders
- Monthly Report and Analysis of OPEX and Operating efficiencies in consultation with respective Budget Holders
- Support Japan Sales & Service leaders with pricing analytics to make sound pricing decisions.
- Support Monthly financial closing process through relevant JE preparation and FS Closing Deck Review
- Drive Control over Japan Commercial / Operation Process to ensure business events are correctly & timely reflected in the financials
- Regular update of KPIs, support new KPI’s introduction by working with Stakeholders
- AR/Credit Management to balance business growth vs Risk Control & Cash Generation
- Provide Fin Analysis Support to Ad-Hoc Projects
- Provide analysis and insight on key competitors
- Organizing and prioritizing workload so that key duties/projects are completed on a timely basis
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's Degree;
Years of Related Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in FP&A (or Commercial Finance) in US MNC
5 years+ of those at managerial level is an advantage
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications/Licenses, and Affiliations:
(Include any required computer skills, regulatory knowledge, certifications, licenses, languages, cognitive and behavioral abilities etc.)
Proficiency Excel skills, experience with Hyperion and Microsoft Office. SAP knowledge is a must
An experience with BI tools is a plus
A `self-starter` mentality and proactive approach to propose and implement improvements
A ‘hands on’ work style, comfortable with the detail, and able to move seamlessly between tactical and strategic issues as required
Ability to meet tight deadlines, handle a demanding and fluctuating workload and at the same time provide accurate and reliable data
Demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail with a steadiness under pressure
Solid communication and presentation skills
Confident, enthusiastic and a team player
Fluent in English and Japanese
