Job Description
【Description】
A leadership role responsible for developing strong confidence building strategy and ensuring all field medical strategic plan aligned with TA strategy. Proactively demonstrate the company Values.
• Headquarters-based position responsible for leading TA MSL team in establishing scientific leadership of company.
• Will be expected to develop and implement confidence building strategy and plan of responsible TA through Medical activities with building strong engagement with external stakeholders in align with MA director and team.
• Takes accountability of TA MSL teams’ KPI, training and budget management. Defines and delivers training on general issues in the responsible therapeutic area to achieve and maintain industry–leading MSL teams. Role will also assess and analyse the impact of MSL activity regularly
• This MSL director role will span the entire TA portfolio, and thus extensive cross-divisional collaboration is expected and required.
MSL director should lead cross-functional collaboration with MA, OBU and global to realize vision and direction of Oncology Medical
Expected outcome, Role & Responsibility
【Strategic Planning and Delivery】
•Develop and implement TA confidence building plan including budget plan along the lines of jMAP by closely collaborating with MA directors
•Provide inputs on the TA Medical strategy and Data generation plan by giving efficient feedback of insights from MSL activities.
•Ensure all TA field Medical strategic plan are aligned with TA strategy and global field medical plan
•Enforce MSL insight utilization cycle for providing quality insights to internal/external stakeholders
•Develop MSL action plan for evidence generation activities aligning with MA director and TA head
•Set right performance measure of MSL activity that may impact clinical practice and TA specific MSL KPIs
•Working with global counterpart to develop TA field medical plan with integrating Japan perspectives
•Together with MA leaders, provide medical input to R&D team to enhance study protocols, study feasibility and operational delivery
【Team management】
•Secure TA Field Medical Plan achieve the target
•Resource optimization and organisational effectiveness - ongoing assessment of MSL team resources to fulfill operational requirements. Consider current and future product requirements
•Develop and retain talented field medicals for building solid organization
•Recruit the right talent for the role of MSL/MSLM based on scientific/technical ability, business acumen, communication skills, company and Team fit, and positive attitude
•Ensure all MSL activities are recorded in right platform in a timely manner
•Ensure MSL related budget management properly
•Oversee direct report compliance with all guidelines and policies
【People Development】
•Provide MSL capabilities training applicable to all TA MSLs
•Identify and discuss developmental needs for MSL and MSLM
•Conduct one on one meetings/field visits to coach and review MSL/MSLM’s capabilities
•Oversee annual TA MSL certification
•Identify and develop suitable successor candidates for MSLD position
•Communicate, develop and role model company culture and company Values & Behaviors
Compliance with relevant company and industry code of Conduct and also to comply with local country codes
•Ensure self and team operate within the relevant Codes of Conduct, including GPEI and SOPs
•Read and sign the Global MSL Standard on an annual basis and adhere to the guidance
•Ensure self and team understand company policies when engaging HCPs and external stakeholders

Requirements
Must have:
• Extensive Team management experience
• Experience in relationship and stakeholder management (internal and external)
• Excellent thought and strategic vision
• Excellence in people development
Good to have:
• Experience with externally sponsored research
• Project management experience
• Experience in other commercial functions of pharma industry (sales, MKT, etc)
Qualifications
Must have:
• Deep scientific discipline or Sufficient knowledge and experience in responsible disease area enable to have a peer discussion with KEEs
Good to have:
• Qualified Medical Doctor
• MSc/MPH/PhD in a scientific discipline
Skills Required
Must have:
• Understanding of multiple aspects of Medical function
• Medical/Scientific knowledge in the responsible disease area
Language Ability
Must have:
• Fluent in English – speaking ability at level to participate in global working groups
