Company Overview
Our client is a well-known trading company, which employs about 22,000 people worldwide and does product design and development, raw materials and factory sourcing and capacity building, vendor compliance and distribution. It has over 250 offices in 40 markets and works with 15,000 suppliers to service 8,000 customers.
There are 3 teams located in HK, Shanghai & Tokyo for the Japan business. For customer relationship, sales and design function, these will be handled by Tokyo team. HK is business control tower, they handle business process, data management, building suppliers matrix and management, order allocation, costing, logistics. Shanghai is the development and production center as major sampling and production are from China.
Job Description
Understanding Japan business process and refine our process manual for all offices to follow.
needs to work with teams to come up with Sourcing strategy tailored made for customer
source and build supplier matrix which are fit for Japan market. Not only factory in China and SEA countries, also include the trims suppliers, inspection house and logistics company which are all Japanese companies.
liaise with Tokyo and SH office to ensure smooth communication as our customers are communicating in Japanese only. Someone in HK who can also translate documentations to make sure HK / SH offices understand correctly

Requirements
Japanese national who has solid experience in production and Japan market
Minimum 10 years of experience in global sourcing for Japan market
Someone who really knows products, factories in China / SEA countries, Japan business process and culture
Guide the team how to handle Japan market which is very different from US / European business
Good team work, communication and problem solving skills.
Pro-active and able to solve problem
University or equivalent qualification
