Job Description
Report line:
Report to: Head of Accounting Japan

Scope of responsibilities:
⚫ Lead and ensure accounting / Tax operation and reporting of 1 Japanese legal entity of the company
⚫ Maintain the reliability of financial statements efficiency of the operation process.

Scope of functions:

1. Accounting
⚫ Timely and accurate preparation and maintenance of all financial statements and internal reports complying with group requirement, German GAAP and Japan GAAP with updating new accounting and tax requirement.
⚫ Ensure monthly and quarterly closing process and accounting report package.
⚫ Manage external and internal auditor
⚫ ERP (SAP) user test and implementation of S4 hana under the responsible area
⚫ External contact includes:
➢ Managerial accounting team (BU controllers) in Japan for inventory, costing, accruals, company valuations, etc.
➢ External and internal auditors on audit planning and execution.

2. Tax
⚫ Manage tax return process and ensure to maximize the benefit of taxation
⚫ Communicate with Tax professional including tax return, international tax matters
⚫ Response to tax investigation with supervisor
⚫ Withholding tax
⚫ Transfer pricing

Requirements
Experiences, Skills:
⚫ Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experience is mandatory
⚫ Hands-on experience in SAP
⚫ Strong interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with multi-functional stakeholders
⚫ CPA and/or licensed tax accountant is a plus
⚫ Experience in manufacturing / automotive industry is a plus

Languages:
⚫ Japanese and English at fluent levels are mandatory
⚫ Good knowledge of financial and accounting terms in English is mandatory
