Job Description
●Develop BD&L strategy in alignment with each or cross GBUs under the Japan & Korea BD&L head supervision
●Responsible for assigned BD&L activities covering all GBUs other than Consumer Healthcare
●Largely lead assigned deals (in-licensing, out-licensing, commercial/development collaboration, M&A, JV, etc) through cross-functional collaboration, due diligence, negotiation and deal closing, to enable the achievement of Sanofi’s corporate objectives of reshaping our portfolio and accelerating growth
●Search business opportunities for Japan & Korea or other regions, as well as filter incoming opportunities, based on the group's strategic priorities with deep understanding of business in the industry
●Lead preliminary assessments of external opportunities together with relevant functions.
●Act as a project member representing BD&L and support a project leader in his/her decision making and action planning as a key member of the project
●Support BD&L deals led by Global BD or other regional BD
●Build and manage local relationships with external (potential) partners in Japan & Korea by joining, but not limited to, industry networking events or scientific conferences
Requirements
●University degree
●10 years+ experience in research, clinical development, marketing or in business development in pharmaceutical industry
●3 years+ experience in professional roles in business development
●Experienced transactional professional with expertise in multiple deals structures/collaboration models
●Established network in Japanese biopharma business development sectors
●Demonstrated track record of success in negotiating and executing partnerships, licensing and acquisition deals in biopharma.
●Fluency in written and spoken English and Japanese
