Company Overview
The primary responsibility of Senior Specialist is to support and assist the Director or Associate Director, Legal & Compliance to ensure that the compliance standards and requirements of all businesses and divisions are adhered to and fulfilled.
Job Description
-Guide, monitor and assist with all activities across Japan’s business that require legal/compliance input as first point of contact for all business divisions
-Support providing sound, appropriate and timely legal/compliance advice and oversight on proposals for new or revised initiatives/programs in Japan market, including but not limited to, patient programs, marketing initiatives, business development deals and other business proposals
-Handle review of non-legal documents for compliance with company policies (with minimal supervision.
-Review, draft and/or develop simple legal/compliance documents, routine contracts and communications independently, and contribute to the review, under the direction of Director or Associate Director, Legal & Compliance as appropriate
-Support planning, creating and conducting training, or train-the-trainer activities
-Support investigations by conducting/documenting interviews and creating case reports
-Support the business in utilizing compliance monitoring tools developed globally or locally, identifying potential risks through due diligence reviews, risk assessment and risk reviews, and implementing and following-up on action plans and remediation actions.
-Support in undertaking and fulfilling those tasks and activities below designated for L&C for all Japan, in consultation with and as directed by the Director or Associate Director, Legal & Compliance
Requirements
•Bachelor degree, preferably in Business/Health Sciences
•5-7 years relevant analytics/paralegal/compliance/ contract review /audit experience
•Accuracy & attention to detail in analyses and communications
•Solutions focused, and risk balanced approach
•Ability to work collaboratively across functions and with cross-functional teams.
•Ability to manage workflow and changing circumstances
•Ability to manage competing expectations of clients
•Ability to successfully lead and implement projects with little/minimal supervision from manager
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written in Japanese, and proficiency in English
•Effective time management to meet deadlines including project management skills, prioritization, and consistent delivery of commitments, and ability to organize information and build upon ideas of others
•Discrete in handling sensitive and confidential information, and a high level of integrity
•Technologically savvy, intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Microsoft Office Suite
•Strong customer/team focus with a broad perspective
Preferred
•Good understanding of legal/compliance principles and applicable Code(s) of Conduct in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
•Basic understanding of the healthcare market and regulations
